(If there is another thread out there, point me in the right direction.) Picked up the g30 about a month ago. I need to turn down the loft. But the adaptor and head seem stuck? Wondering if Maybe its just a different process to change the settings than I am used to? With Titleist and Callaway I have had in past, just unscrew, lift up on the head and turn the adapter to the desired setting.
With the Ping, I unscrew, try to lift up or turn and get nothing. Just wanted to ask for advice or tips, before I start playing tug of war with the shaft and head.
All of the above advice is correct. Just be sure that you understand that if you are changing the loft at all (and there is MUCH debate on that point) you are changing it at most about 25% of the difference between your 8 and 9 irons. Unless you can tell a big difference between the launch angle of an 8i vs. A 9i, then don't look for much if any launch angle changes from the adjustment you are going to make. What IS going to happen, though, is that you are going to open the face either.6* or 1.2*, and THAT will be much more influential on ballflight than any loft change. If you want to lessen the effects of a hook, or if you are trying to take the left side of the course out of play and get rid of two-way misses, then this will be a good change. But don't be surprised by that change being much more noticeable than the launch angle, and be sure that it is a change that you want.
